Galileo Galilei Airport (IATA: PSA) is located in Pisa, Italy. It is one of the two main airports in Tuscany, together with Peretola Airport in Florence. It is named after Galileo Galilei, the famous scientist and native of Pisa. The airport is located in the San Giusto district, less than 2 km from the central railway station, relatively close to the city centre.
Galileo Galilei Airport is connected to the local central railway station both by train and bus; bus and train connections to and from Santa Maria Novella railway station in Florence are also available.
Besides civilian operations, the airport is also used extensively by the Aeronautica Militare (Italian Air Force) and is a base for, amongst others, the C-130 Hercules and C-27J Spartan transport aircraft.
